Maria Jimena Romero, is a rising 2L at St. Thomas University College of Law. Originally from Cuba, Jimena has long dreamed of becoming an attorney—a goal that took root in childhood and grew stronger during her years working as a paralegal after completing her undergraduate studies. That experience solidified her passion for the legal field and motivated her to pursue law school.

Jimena has a strong interest in tax and probate law, drawn to the complexity and real-world impact of these interconnected areas. Her background in real estate has given her valuable insight into how property transactions intersect with probate and tax matters, further deepening her commitment to this practice.

This summer, she is excited to be part of the Trust Counsel team, where she is gaining hands-on experience in probate law, working closely with attorneys on casework and court proceedings. Jimena brings to the team a strong work ethic, excellent client management skills, and a desire to learn from seasoned professionals in the field.

Outside of law, Jimena is passionate about running and CrossFit. She has completed the Miami and New York Half Marathons and enjoys combining her love of fitness with travel by participating in races across different cities.
